The valued members of the University of North Texas donor recognition societies play a crucial role in enriching our university, supporting our mission and empowering countless students to pursue their dreams.

These donor societies include the 1890 Society, which honors individuals who invest in the university’s future through planned and estate gifts, and the following societies based on lifetime giving totals:

  • McConnell Society ($1 million or more)
  • Matthews Society ($500,000 to $999,999)
  • Kendall Society ($250,000 to $499,999)
  • Chilton Society ($100,000 to $249,999)
  • President’s Council ($25,000 to $99,999)

We are honored to extend our sincerest appreciation for their support by offering a special benefit: complimentary UNT parking for members. We invite members to utilize this privilege to attend engaging events or simply stroll through our ever-evolving campuses and witness firsthand the positive impact of their generosity.

Parking System Upgrade for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Parking stickers and hangtags are no longer required because UNT is transitioning to a license plate recognition parking system, which will be rolled out for the 2026-2027 academic year for all types of parking (except for some special events, which may require event-specific permits). Registered license plates for parked vehicles will be verified by cameras.

Members of all current UNT donor recognition societies (McConnell, Matthews, Kendall, Chilton, President’s Council and the 1890 Society) are eligible to request complimentary parking. To register, members should complete the online request form and provide the following information:

  • Vehicle make
  • Vehicle model
  • State of registration
  • License plate

Members will only be required to register their vehicle once. If a member replaces or sells a vehicle registered with UNT, they should submit updated vehicle information to Donor Relations.

Donor Recognition Society members can request complimentary parking by filling out the request form.

FAQ

Can I register more than one vehicle?

Yes, you can register up to two vehicles per member household (one for the member and another for spouse/domestic partner only). Please note that only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time utilizing complimentary parking. A second vehicle will not be allowed complimentary parking at the same time as another registered vehicle. If two vehicles are registered, a separate online request form must be completed for each vehicle (please do not try to combine two vehicles on one online form).

Will I receive a physical permit?
No, your registered license plate will serve as your credential to park. There is no longer a need to display a physical permit. License plates are required to be aisle facing (do not park where the plate is not visible from the aisle).
What should I do with my hangtag? Will my hangtag still work?
You can use your current hangtag through August 31, 2026. After that date, please discard your hangtag, as license plate recognition technology will be utilized beginning September 1, 2026, and hangtags will no longer be a valid parking credential.
