With a historic $1 million gift, LaCore Labs — a developer of custom-formula health products — has established an innovation center at UNT’s Inspire Park, the university’s business incubator that houses start-up and technology companies. Using the facility’s classroom and laboratory spaces, LaCore Labs will offer real-world experience through student internships and jobs for UNT graduates.

Santander Consumer USA, Inc. Foundation Supports Foster Care Alumni at UNT

Foster care alumni are getting a head start at UNT thanks to Santander Consumer USA, Inc. Foundation’s support of the Summer Bridge Program, which enables students to get acclimated to campus before the fall semester begins. The program is part of Persevere Until Success Happens (PUSH), an organization that helps young adults who age out of foster care achieve educational success.

UNT Engineering and Science Benefit from Texas Instruments Support

Texas Instruments (TI) is making a difference by supporting the research of Dr. Oliver Chyan, professor of chemistry and director of the Interfacial Electrochemistry and Materials Research Laboratory, and helping integrate the TI Robotics Systems Learning Kit into two engineering courses. According to Dr Xinrong Li, associate professor and associate department chair of electrical engineering, “This has proven to be very helpful in keeping students focused on the topics they have learned so they have an opportunity to continue to develop in-depth expertise in their knowledge base.”

Capital One Financial Services Supports Digital Skills Training

Passionate about closing the digital skills gap in high-demand areas like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, Capital One partnered with Major League Hacking to create a curriculum that demystifies the world of AI. Now, UNT is using Capital One support to train pre-service teachers on the company’s AI curriculum, equipping students with foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the teaching jobs of tomorrow.

Orientation Sponsorship from Wells Fargo Bank Helps Welcome UNT Students to Campus

Wells Fargo maintains consistent support of UNT students, annually sponsoring 30 sessions of Student Orientation and Transition programs that reach 15,000 students and parents. Additionally, Wells Fargo supports UNT’s Student Money Management Center, Emerald Eagle Scholars, LeaderShape Scholars and other hands-on learning experiences that have a transformative impact on the university.
