The University of North Texas is celebrating the creation of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business through a $30 million commitment – the largest gift in university history –  from alumnus G. Brint Ryan and his wife, Amanda.

The gift will provide ongoing support for business research through academic endowments, as well as funds to support strategic program initiatives to ensure the college is one of the nation’s top providers of business higher education.

UNT has earned a $1.6 million grant from Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) in support of High School Career Connect

University of North Texas has earned a $1.6 million grant from Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) in support of High School Career Connect – a peer mentoring program to propel career education for middle and high school students in Denton County.

UNT created High School Career Connect  to ensure Denton County middle school and high school students have access to quality career education prior to making endorsement, college and/or career decisions. In Texas, all eighth grade students are required to select an “endorsement” area of interest to guide their course selections throughout high school.

The Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation granted $40,000 to the University of North Texas Persevere UNTil Success Happens (PUSH) program, which helps young adults who age out of foster care achieve educational success at UNT by focusing on academic, financial and career success, as well as the social well-being, of each student. The generous grant will be used to fund the Summer Bridge Program, an initiative that provides housing, programming and college transition services to incoming freshmen and transfer students. Participants also get an early start on their coursework.

The Newman Foundation creates fund to support TAMS student researchers

The Newman Foundation has pledged $100,000 to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) at the University of North Texas, a Carnegie-ranked Tier One research university.

The gift, which is the largest pledge in the program’s history, will create The Newman Foundation TAMS Endowment Fund for Undergraduate Research, a permanent fund to support vital research-enhancing activities for TAMS students.

The Newman Foundation is led by Ken Newman, a 1966 graduate of UNT’s College of Business, and his wife Ann.
